Rotorua Energy Events Centre

The Moving People 2020 conference is being held at the Rotorua Energy Events Centre (EEC) in New Zealand. The EEC is about 9kms from the Rotorua airport. Rotorua is located in the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is the seat of the Rotorua District, a territorial authority encompassing Rotorua and several other nearby towns. The majority of the Rotorua District is in the Bay of Plenty Region, but a sizeable southern section and a small western section are in the Waikato Region. Rotorua is in the heart of the North Island, 60 kilometres south of Tauranga, 80 km north of Taupō, 105 km east of Hamilton, and 230 km southeast of the nation's most populous city, Auckland.

The Energy Events Centre is located within the central business area of Rotorua and in an idyllic volcanic setting by Lake Rotorua. Rotorua is the home of some of New Zealand’s iconic volcanic landforms and deposits, and in the heart of one of New Zealand’s cultural and touristic centres. Rotorua was the only region in New Zealand in 2013 to receive the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) 'World Festival and Event City Award', cementing the regions reputation for hosting world-class events.
