BIC National Conference - Program and Registration

The Program and Registration for the 2019 BIC National Conference on Moving People > A National Priority is not yet open. Please mark your diaries, plan your travel and book accommodation now. We need industry to be there in Canberra in this federal election year.

In May 2019, Australians will once again go to the polls to make a choice on their preference for federal government. This a big part fo the reason for returning to Canberra for the elected government of the day to hear our industry voice.

Your voice as a representative of the industry in your community can make a significant impact so we need you to get involved in Canberra and make a difference.

Since we were established in Canberra in 2002, the BIC has lobbied for the Commonwealth Government to take a strategic and pro-active role in moving people in our cities and regions around Australia.

The Industry through the BIC continues to argue that all levels of government, led by the federal government should be involved and work cooperatively to grow the public transport pie and this will in turn grow our industry.

Since 2008 we have seen record investment in public transport from the federal government and the development of policies which see transport, including public transport as a key consideration when the future of our nation is being considered. Our Industry has influenced this outcome and we need to continue to do so.

In order for this to continue we need our voice, your voice, as an industry to be heard across the political spectrum. Moving People: A National Priority is about achieving a consensus view about the federal government's role in public transport.
